One of the great classics of the Great Island. Particularly interesting for a first approach, you will cross areas with a privileged climate and a generous nature.

Day 1 Antananarivo – Antsirabe

Reception on arrival in Antananarivo early in the morning. Transfer downtown for breakfast. Then departure for the South. Discovery of the Malagasy Central Highlands with its rice fields, brick houses of red laterite. Stop in the small town of Ambatolampy located in the foothills of Ankaratra which houses the third highest point of the island. Free lunch. Continuation to Antsirabe. Night at hotel.

Day 2 Antsirabe – Sahambavy

Visit the city of Antsirabe. Visit a traditional confectionery, a workshop of horns. Sop in the city of Ambositra to visit a workshop and a shop of famous woodcarvers “Zafimaniry”. Free lunch. Drive to Fianarantsoa. City tour. Night at hotel. Possibility to add 2 days / 1 night trip between Antsirabe and Fianarantsoa to visit Ranomafana and its national reserve.

Day 3 Sahambavy – Ranohira (Isalo)

Departure for Ambalavao, hosting one of the largest livestock markets in the south but also the Mecca of malagasy wines. Visit the famous papermaking Antemoro. Free lunch. Continue to Ranohira : rocky landscape surrounded by hills (some are sacred), crossing the legendary “gates of the South”, the uplands of Horombe. Night at hotel.

Day 4 Ranohira (Isalo)

Early morning, transfer by car to the foothills of the Isalo massif where the discovery by walk of the park begins. Discovery of the “natural pool”, possibility of swimming. Free lunch. Night at hotel.

Day 5 Ranohira – Tulear – Ifaty

After breakfast, departure to Tulear. Meeting the first baobabs and impressive Antandroy and Mahafaly sculptures, witnessing the importance of ancestors in Malagasy society. City tour and visit of Tulear shell market. Continuation to Ifaty. Free lunch. Night at hotel.

Day 6 Ifaty

Day and free lunch in Ifaty. Free activities to do with the hotel: visit the baobab forest, sea excursions, scuba diving… Night at hotel.

Day 7 Ifaty – Tulear – Antananarivo

Free morning. Transfer to Tulear airport by the hotel’s shuttle and flight back to Tana. Reception on arrival in Tana and available car until the return flight. Farewell dinner at a famous restaurant in the capital.
